I've cooked from dozens of Staub pieces. Make this your core piece and then build around it. The most difficult part is selecting a size. I always recommend going bigger rather than smaller. Staub runs a lot of sales on its 4-quart pots because it's their "gateway drug" for the brand. It's inexpensive enough (on sale) to try out. But the reality is that you're going to love it so you should buy a size you'll use all the time. A 5.5 quart pan would be large enough for Tad and me on a regular basis but I wanted a size that could house a dish to serve up to 8 people. The 7 quart size gets you there.
